Description du livre
Will Kergalan satisfy his unquenchable thirst for revenge, or can he start a new life despite the terrible wounds of his childhood?
At just thirteen years old, Kergalan is left for dead—like the rest of his family—by a group of nobles enraged by the execution of Louis XVI. Ever since that bloody day, he's carried deep physical and emotional scars that drive him to enlist in the army of the Republic, hoping to harden himself and hunt down his family's murderers.
Through his journey the full scope of the Napoleonic epic unfolds: from the bridge at Arcole to Waterloo, passing through Egypt, Austerlitz, Eylau, the Russian campaign, the first exile, and the Hundred Days. As he becomes a relentless warrior in service of the Emperor, will the young man satisfy his insatiable need for revenge, or will he find a fresh start despite the horrors of his past?
More than two centuries after Napoleon’s death, follow young Kergalan’s journey and immerse yourself in a sweeping account of the Napoleonic era—from the bridge of Arcole to Waterloo, via Egypt, Austerlitz, Eylau, the Russian campaign, the first exile, and the Hundred Days.
